Hey everyone. I got some time to do the latest update to the board software, but it meant that all the old modifications and styles wouldn't work anymore. So, here you have the newest iteration of LabourTalk. Please let me know by Private Message if you run into any issues with the new styling. Some new features on the board are:

  • Latest HTML5 Responsive Styling - You can now see a new, more modern styling on the board. Along with this, you can resize the browser to see the board change with it. The board is now functional on all sizes of screens, including your cell phone, table and desktop/laptop.
  • Post Sharing - Although you could previously, the new layout means the sharing icons are more visible on the lower right hand corner of each post. Click your favourite social media outlet to share the desired post with them.
  • Multiple Themes - Previously there was only one theme in an attempt to lower the workload when modifications were put in place. Fortunately, the new modification system is much simpler to implement and we now have multiple colour options for you to enjoy. You can change these from your User Control Panel under the Board Settings heading.
  • Announcements - Announcements can now be posted here (where you're seeing this one) and, in most cases, can be dismissed. To dismiss them, please click the "X" in the top right corner of this box.
  • Collapsing Categories - Categories, such as News & Announcements or Welcome (below), can be collapsed to clear up some of the clutter. This state should be maintained as long as you're logged in.

We hope you like the changes!

Suit Countersuit?

Postby sammy » Mon Feb 14, 2011 3:30 pm

Just saw a posting on Facebook from our old friend Stephen Barber, I guess the Vince Ready decision on the TWU/Doubt vs. Sherryl Anderson must be an interesting read.

So busy going after each other....

Thanks, I did find it last night and read through it. Surprised...yeh, actually. I keep thinking they couldn't possibly sink lower...and yet they do. How do they get any work done given how much time/energy/money is put into attacking and defending each other. Too bad the membership doesn't have any idea. I guess since most are like me and can't be bothered to go to meetings, we're oblivious to the crap.

That is why everyone SHOULD go to union meetings! The exec of the twu and your little business agent is always happy when no one shows up. They don't want to answer any questions and they sure don't want their ineptitude and their fragile ego's to be exposed. The wisest are never elected, just the talking heads who know how to throw a party on our dime!! Whenever there are elections at the local level, all the twu executive seem to show up as influencers of who they want to be elected. That is not the way it was 10 years ago. Then (and before) the only ones at an election of local exec. where members who belonged to that local. Now the twu exec in calgary, lane st, ontario think they should all show up to make sure their own cronies get in. What a bunch of b.s.
Kick the bums out!!! You must work at it though....

So even Vince Ready is tired of the twu abusing the harassment policy and trifling with the Human Rights guys. It's been going on for so long. Some of the people reading this are aware of a few loathsome elected members of the twu exec that have tried intimidation and bullying and threats to gag the members to this day. Should those elected officials be known as "the gang"? Well call it Karma but this is going to come and bite them in the a**. (Hopefully real soon).
Is george going to retire? Is Lee Riggs going for pres.? Is Tamara going on a trip? (A power trip) What about the issue with the COPE members in Alberta? What about John Carpenter? What about Perry Pasqueleto (sp)? Is Marie still a good speaker? Can Betty write? Someone out there must be able to answer these questions. If they do will the twu exec try to nail them with harassment?

Latest rumour is that some of the TWU executive attended a conference in Washington DC recently....not sure how accurate but if it's true, good to see membership dues going to a good cause.

Next round in Edmonton

Postby sammy » Wed Mar 16, 2011 1:27 pm

Guess there is a gathering of the clan at the end of the month in Edmonton involving current executive and ex Business Agent. Let the infighting continue!

If you are referring to my wrongful dismissal lawsuit against the TWU, it is true that it proceeds to trial in Edmonton on March 28th.
