Chris (That is all I know you as). I need more info, your hotmail email kicked back.

What Local? What are they telling you they will get you as a wage rate? We have a few of their collective agreements but they are from all over and it varies a lot by province.

I have dug around and found Sask, AB, and Ontario collective agreements. Are you in any of those provinces?

Unions will always tell you that you are going to get a great wage increase if you sign a union card. If you make less than $10/hr I am confident telling you that you are NOT suddenly going to double your income by joining a union.

Find out what you are going to have to pay in dues too. Our site has a calculator that will tell you this. It will depend on a bunch of stuff but nothing you don't know.

http://www.labourtalk.org/calculators/calculator/duesSelect/

The collective agreements I have all show wage rates dependent upon how many hours you work so you will have to know that too.

UFCW isn’t the union at Safeway it is the Retail Wholesale union. I found a couple of CA's on the Negotech site. I compared SuperStore to Safeway. UFCW vs RW, here’s the facts…

Wages at Superstore are lower than at Safeway. At SuperStore (UFCW 1400) starting wages, right now are $9.25/hr. you don’t get over $12 until you have worked 6500 hours so at 20hrs per week it would take over 6 years to get from $9.25 to $12.30. Don’t forget you will be paying Union dues for 6 years too. http://www.labourtalk.org/calculators/calculator/duesSelect/

I will get it into a chart or something like that and send it to you guys. I can't post things like that so I will email whatever I figure out.
